About

Stillwater Ranch

Testimonials:

“I’ve tried traditional therapy several times in the past to deal with the traumas I experienced during my time in the military.  I just couldn’t take it and left every time after the first session.  Dealing with the horses was so different.  Interacting with them helped me to see similar patterns in my life and I learned ways to make different choices.  I only left the ranch after 8 months due to other obligations that got in the way.  Stillwater Ranch has so much to offer Veterans in a gorgeous place!”       -WJ

“Since coming to Stillwater Ranch, I’ve made significant progress in a short period of time.  I have the opportunity to work with the horses and they really calm and center me in a way that I’ve not experienced in years.  Getting to hang out with other Veterans is very helpful too on my road to rediscovering myself and healing.  I no longer have thoughts of suicide and have hope for the first time in a very long time.”       - BA

“Stillwater Ranch is near and dear to my heart. I firmly believe in the mission and vision of Stillwater.  The reason I am involved with Stillwater Ranch is I believe in the Vets helping Vets philosophy.   As a Vet myself, seeing and hearing the effects of SR on other Vets is very rewarding.  Stillwater Ranch gives me many opportunities to help other Vets.  It also gives me the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of Veterans doing a variety of activities that are fun and healing at the same time.”

“I will be forever grateful to Wendy and the rest of the crew at Stillwater. They are extraordinary people serving wholly and humbly the brave men and women who have given of themselves to preserve the precious freedoms we are so fortunate to enjoy.”       - DH

“Everyone at Stillwater Ranch helped me get through losing my husband and my grieving.  Being at the ranch helps lower my anxiety and stress.  I’m so thankful Stillwater Ranch came into my life at a time when I needed it most.  I will always be grateful for all Wendy and the ranch did to help me.  It is an amazing place of hope and healing that I will never forget.”     - TA

“I live in Texas but I’m working in Colorado for several weeks.  I reached out to a local Veterans group on FaceBook to see if I could meet up with some of the guys.  It just so happened they were going to Stillwater Ranch that evening for Cigars and S’mores Veteran Campfire.  They invited me to meet them at the ranch.  I didn’t know a soul, but I went anyway.  I was warmly welcomed by everyone and I wasn’t a bit uncomfortable.  It was a great evening of comradery and hospitality.  I met some awesome people that I hope to stay in touch with long after I return home.  It’s so important for Veterans to meet like this and I’m glad Stillwater offers such opportunities.  I plan to be back to the ranch the next time I’m in town!”     -JT
